Ancient Persian

Description:

This Ketubah is a reproduction of Persian ketubah from the year 1865 with a twist of a contemporary design for the lions and the birds around it rather than the abstract images that were created on the original one.

“Shiviti” at the top of the Ketubah are meditative plaques used in some Jewish communities for contemplation over God’s name. They are usually placed over the podium from which the prayer service is led by the Hazzan.
This tradition is based on the Biblical verse: I have set (shiviti) the Lord always before me. (Psalm 16:8).

You may find more ancient designs if you search on the internet under Jewish Museums such as http://jnul.huji.ac.il/dl/ketubbot/html/country_list_graphic.htm

I will be glad to reproduce it for you.

I use the same technique and the same materials as the old Ketubot; Leather parchment and kosher ink that will last and will be cherished forever.
